Thank You for all of Your many blessings.

However, I’d like to take this opportunity to detour from the usual objects of our thanksgivings and thank You for a slightly more esoteric and—frankly—weird blessing.

Heavenly Father, I’d like to thank You for Donald J. Trump.

I’d like to thank You because having him as our Country’s “leader”, has added an additional “hashmark” to the “measuring rod” by which we measure our leaders.

Having trump as our president has broadened the spectrum across which we view our leaders—past and present, for most of us probably thought we had seen, heard of, or read about the worst leaders in history—until trump. Now we know how awfully “bad” bad can be and for that Father-God, we thank You.

We thank You that we can now better appreciate the leaders we’ve had.

We thank You, God, that we now have this experience under our belt. Father we also thank You for the other tools that this experience has granted honed and sharpened for us—tools like; Lie Detectors, B.S. Detectors, Retrospectrometers, Hindsighters, and Foresighters.

Prayerfully, with these tools on our toolbelts of life, we will be able to see the next bigoted tyrant coming from miles away—and take the necessary precautions.

And Lord, we thank You for turkey. Amen

  1. Ron, I’m aware that Thanksgiving season has come and gone. However, I would like to Amen your prayer. It was astonishing and I am sure appreciated by all. If I may, I would like to add these verses from the Bible. I pray our leaders, one in particular, will take heed.

“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” declares the Lord. Therefore thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the shepherds who care for my people: “You have scattered my flock and have driven them away, and you have not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for your evil deeds, declares the Lord. Then I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them back to their fold, and they shall be fruitful and multiply. I will set shepherds over them who will care for them, and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be missing, declares the Lord.
